Recently many people on all networks have started to have problems sending emails that have a large number of recipients. Usually the emails get returned with an error message by your ISP or a mail server somewhere further down the line.

The reason is very simple, SPAM. It is now generally accepted that over 80% of all emails are SPAM (Junk Emails) and each year the spammers use more sophisticated methods to get their junk emails out. Over the last year several viruses have spread around the world that take control of your PC and use it to send out thousands of junk emails that you are unaware of.

To counteract this most email providers are starting to implement restrictions of a max of 50 recipients per email. So if you need to send a large number of emails you can use Word to do a Mail Merge or use a hosted email marketing service like Constant Contact.
